RIG students training at J.W. Marriott and Park Hyatt, Dubai
Mr Bhavesh Rawal, EAM & Director F&B Service of J.W. Marriott, Dubai visited RIG for recruitment of interns. Eighteen students have been selected for Food & Beverage Service Department. They have joined the Dubai property this week. Nine students ahd earlier gone to the same property. Another four students are training at Park Hyatt, Dubai.

RIG visit of Dr. Nishat Elavia, Campus Director, NZMA, New Zealand
Dr. Elavia visited RIG and conducted a session for students on careers in Cruise lines and opportunities in New Zealand for students for higher learning. He was shown around the institute facilities and were appraised of the courses offered. He was impressed by the overall standards. Discussions of mutual interest were done regarding educational opportunities in NZMA, New Zealand for our students.

HTMi, Singapore visit of our students
Six of our students visited HTMi Singapore from 26th Feb to 2nd March, 2018 to do a short term course. Following mail from Singapore is self-explanatory :
I write now with reference to the RIG student visit that has been ongoing this week in HTMi(Singapore). I am pleased to relay to you that your students have represented your institution very well indeed. Their attendance has been punctual, their dress and self presentation impeccable and their behaviour first class. They entered the spirit of the teaching and learning arena here well and attempted everything requested of them. These are fine young men and will succeed in whatever working environment they enter in the future.

Housekeeping equipment demonstration
RIG Institute organised a demonstration of Karcher Cleaning Systems on 13th Dec at their Greater Noida Campus. Mr. Hitesh Mathur, TGM – North & East along with Mr. Anurag Barman Territory Manager and their team brought many Housekeeping Equipments used in the Hotels today and explained where and how they are used. The students had first hand knowledge when they handled equipments on their own. The whole day training was attended by Ist year and IInd year students.

10th Anniversary of RIG : Celebration
RIG has completed ten successful years in November this year. A gala event was organized at its campus which was attended by dignitaries from India, Switzerland and Kazakhistan. Special Indian, Swiss and Kazakh Cultural performances were presented by students. Alumni were handed over their Certificates. Shri B.N.Singh, District Magistrate, Noida, Shri Rashid Alvi, Prof. Russel Rimmer, Adisor, HTMi, Switzerland, Mr. Talgat, Rector, Almaty Technological University, Kazakhistan, Dr. Gulab Jha, Regional Director, IGNOU, Shri R.K.Dubey, Ex-CMD, Canara Bank graced the occasion. Congratulatory messages came from our academic partners in New Zealand, Switzerland, Singapore and Kazakhistan.

Diwali Celebration at RIG
Festival of Diwali was celebrated with Rangoli, lights, music, games, sweets and Magic show. Pooja was perormed. Special lunch with traditional dishhes was prepared by students. Games were organised. Gifts and dry fruit packets were distributed. All in all it was a fun day.

Ms. Jane Koch, CEO and Mr. Benno, Operations Manager of a hotel school, Sydney, Australia visited RIG. They were shown around the institute facilities and were appraised of the courses offered. World Tourism Day celebration at RIG
World Tourism Day was celebrated at RIG. On this occasion a poster making contest was organized. Theme of the contest was on Sustainable Tourism efforts. Five student teams were asked conceptualise and make the posters depicting the relevant concerns. The creativity was seen in good measures in the final presentation.

IHG Campus placemenets at RIG
The placement campaign at RIG started with the IHG Team visit yesterday. Team consisted of Senior HR and Operations Managers from Crowne Plaza, Greater Noida. An audio-visual presentation ws done by HR Manager which was followed by Group discussion and Personal Interviews for Job as well as Internships. Five final year students have got firm job offers and the internship list is awaited.

Swiss food festival at RIG
Swiss Master chef Rene Fallet was with us taking classes for our students for last three weeks. On Friday 22nd September 2017 we orgnised a Swiss Food Festival to celebrate 70 Years of partnership between India and Switzerland. Swiss Embassy officials attended special Swiss lunch prepared by our studenrs under guidance of Chef Rene./br>

RIG 10 th Anniversary celebration Mata Di Chowki
RIG is celebrating this year its 10 th anniversary and 10 th year of partnership with HTMi, Switzerland. In typical Indian tradition we organized Mata di Chowki for blessings of Maa Durga. A grand chowki was set up in the atrium of the institute. Live Devotional music was enjoyed by the RIG family after the pooja ceremony. Prasad was distributed to all. Music was provided by the famous vocalist Mr. Nagpal and his team. To rap up the event a three tier cake was cut by CEO.

Dubai visit of our Academic Head-cum-Placement Coordinator
Chef Prosenjit Chandra visited Dubai for International Internship and Placement Tie ups with many 5 star deluxe properties between 14th May to 19th May 2017. The companies are: J.W Marriott, Grand Hyatt, Hyatt Regency, Radisson, Hilton, Shereton, The Oberoi, Taj, Jumerah Zabeel Saray, MoveNPick etc.

Visit of Air Force Goleden Jubilee School, New Delhi students and faculty at RIG – Probable Young Hoteliers in making
A group of 60 students of class XII and XI alongwith 3 senior teachers visited RIG Institute today to familiarize themselves with Vocational courses available for careers in rapidly growing hospitality sector. They were shown the various training labs of all departments and then given demonstrations in Mocktail making, Cake Icings and canapés. This was followed by Do-it- Yourself session which students enjoyed. Many have shown inclination towards considering seriously Hoteliering as a career path. We wish them all the best.

Advance Culinary course at RIG – Young Chefs in making
A new 3 year course Advance Diploma in Culinary Arts from HTMi. Switzerland was launched in the Academic Year 2016 – 17. We started with a small batch of 10 dedicated students who were from the very beginning focused on a career in Culinary discipline. The course has been very carefully designed to ensure the high culinary standards of HTMi, Switzerland. The salient feature of the course is strong emphasis on Hands-on training within the Institute as well as in the industry. A number of Internships at reputed Catering outlets in Hotels have been incorporated in the course to ensure the skill enhancement. After finishing their Semester 2 the students will be going for their first Internship during May, June and July, 2017 in the kitchens of Hyatt Regency, International Habitat Center, Crowne Plaza and ITC Maurya.

RIG Students visit Hotel Laundry at Crowne Plaza, Greater Noida
Five batches of RIG students visited the Crowne Plaza, Greater Noida to familiarize themselves with the operations of a hotel laundry and the Linen Management accompanied by the Rooms Division faculty. As a part of academic activity RIG organizes such Walk-through visits to various hotels for the students to get the first-hand information and knowledge about the hospitality operations.
